SUPPORTING
WOMEN FOR WOMEN INTERNATIONAL

We are happy to celebrate International Women's Day by supporting the work of Women for Women International for another year. All proceeds from our limited-edition International Women's Day silk scarf, will go to supporting their work in helping women survivors of war rebuild their lives.
All over the world there is an imbalance of power and opportunities for women, an issue which is even worse in conflict zones. 70% of all people living in poverty are women and girls and one in three women say they have experienced physical or sexual assault. We believe that this should not be the case, and it can be helped by supporting initiatives like Women for Women International.
By helping women around us, we help not only individuals but also their children and whole communities, often breaking generational trauma. We know women pass on their knowledge to their neighbours and children, positively influencing future generations. Educated women are much more likely to educate their children and for every ten percent more girls who go to school, a country’s GDP can be expected to go up an average of 3 percent.
By investing in women, we create a better world for all of us–a world that’s more equal, peaceful, and prosperous.

Women for Women International invests where inequality is greatest by helping women who are forgotten–the women survivors of war and conflict. Since 1993, their global community has invested in the power of over 570,000 women across 17 conflict-affected countries, to create a ripple effect that makes the world more equal, peaceful, and prosperous.
Through Women for Women International’s ‘Stronger Women, Stronger Nations’ programme, women learn the skills they need to rebuild their families and communities. In Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Iraq, Kosovo, Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Sudan, women who join the programme connect with each other to form support networks. They are equipped with the skills to earn an income and save; to gain knowledge and resources to care for their families; and to defend their rights. Women use their power together, passing it on to their children for lasting change.

Women for Women International also have complementary programmes that include men's engagement, community advocacy, and active conflict response. Most recently Women for Women International launched their 'Adolescent Girls Programme' which is designed to address the unique needs of teenage girls aged 16-17 in conflict-affected regions like Iraq, Nigeria, and Afghanistan. We hope that, with your support, we can empower even more women and girls, creating a ripple effect of change to break the cycle of poverty and inequality.
